Seiko Solutions Inc. (President: Mr. Jun Sekine, Head office: 8-Nakase 1-chome, Chiba-shi, TEL: 043-273-3111) have developed “TS -2560”, a new high-end model of NTP server “Time Server Series”, with improved NTP processing capacity and significantly reduced power consumption.
Since its launch in 1999, approximately 10,000 units of Seiko’s Time Servers have been installed in a wide range of industries, including the public sector as well as the financial, medical, and telecommunications sectors. “TS-2560” is the latest model of this “Time Server Series”.
As time sources, it supports multi-GNSS including Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) and Russian Satellite Positioning System (GLONASS) as well as GPS.
It also inherits all the functions of previous NTP server model “TS-2550” including leap second handling (by Immediate/Gradual Adjust Mode), and has more than 2.5 times more processing power for NTP packets while reducing power consumption by approximately 40%.
In terms of operation and management, Seiko Solutions is pursuing high availability through the use of dual AC power supplies and storage of configuration information in an external storage medium. In addition, it comes with a standard maintenance period of five years, making it suitable for use in large-scale systems and data centers.
